From the meadows of Croda Rossa to Passo Monte Croce

Excursion tip Berghotel TirolThe Berghotel Tirol is situated in the midst of the famous Dolomites and is the ideal start point for excursions and walking tours. Enjoy the fragrant alp meadows and the beautiful landscape around the mountains of Sesto and take the cable car to arrive to the mountain station of the meadows of Croda Rossa.

From here follow the hiking trail nr. 18, go across romantic forests of larchs and spruces, pass the mountain pasture “Schellabboden” with the authentic cottage and continue to Passo Monte Croce. After 2 and a half hours of walk you can take the bus to go back to Sesto and to relax in the wellness area of the Berghotel Tirol.

Adventurous trips on the Helm at sunrise

Helm Monte ElmoThere are magic moments when the first sunrays illumine the surrounding mountain peaks. In the early morning you take the panorama cable car and after a 2 hours walking tour you hardly wait around the romantic campfire for the streaming sunlight. Guided hiking tour to the Sorapis Sea

On 08.15 a.m. we went with our hiking bus to the Passo Tre Croci. From there the hiking tour starts to the Vandelli hut (Nr. 215). From the Vandelli hut we went to the Sorapis Sea and there we had a break. We went back to the starting point.

Guided hiking tour with Herbert: “Monte Piana – a historical point”

With our hiking bus we went to the Lago d’Antorno. From there the hiking tour starts to Monte Piana, one of the “hottest” places of World War I in the Dolomites. Also the view to the Tre Cime is wonderful. We went back by the Rinbianco Valley and back to the starting point!

Guided hiking tour with Herbert: “The meadows of Monte Casella”

With our hiking bus we went to the Campo di Dentro Valley and we started from there our tour. We took the way 12 A and we arrived at the meadows of Monte Casella. At the chaser hut we had a break and together we grilled some sausages. The view was wonderful and we enjoyed the silence. Return to Moso and Berghotel.

Family holidays in Sesto

Berghotel Sexten SestoThe Berghotel Tirol in Sesto / Dolomites is a great paradise for families. Away from main streets and surrounded by the majestic peaks of the Dolomites, all the family will feel well soon. The Berghotel offers playing rooms as well as swimming pools, playstations as well as table football and cinema-movie-room. But this is not everything: at the Croda Rossa you can visit the Reindeer family, which has increased to 11 animals and you can explore the theme route “milkmeile”, which in 10 different stages gives a lot of information about the milk. Great fun is assured for example by visiting the adventure park in Dobbiaco or the summer toboggan slide Funbob in San Candido. THE BORDER TRAIL ALONG THE KARNISCHE MOUNTAINS – the trail with the super panoramas

We take the funicular Monte Elmo (2041m) and we start with our excursion eastwards on way nr. 4 past the Hahnspielhut anf the Sillianer Hut (2447m). On the way you can see the Three Peaks at the other side of the valley with the Monte Paterno. We go down to the Klammbach Alp and then back to the Berghotel. Along the way you have a panoramic view to the Dolomites of Sesto and Austria and the sun is always over you.
